This policy explains how Edukinetics Practise (Pty) Ltd, trading as Edukinetics (“we”, “us”), communicates with you by email, SMS, WhatsApp, or other electronic means, including the marketing and promotional messages we may send, the day-to-day updates we send about your child's sessions, and how you can control what you receive. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Children's Privacy & Media Consent Policy.

1. Two kinds of communication

We distinguish between two categories of electronic communication, because they are treated differently under section 69 of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”):

1.1 Service and administrative communications

These are messages necessary to deliver our services, for example, session reminders, term dates, invoices, your child's progress reports and session photos, changes to programmes, or responses to your enquiries. We send these as part of our contract with you, and you cannot opt out of them while your child is enrolled with us, though you can ask us to change how we deliver them (for example, by email instead of WhatsApp).

1.2 Marketing communications

These are messages promoting Edukinetics or its programmes that go beyond administering your child's existing enrolment, for example, a newsletter, information about a new programme, a promotional offer, or an invitation to an event. We only send marketing communications where you have given your prior, opt-in consent, or where you are an existing client and the marketing relates to a similar service we already provide to you (the “existing customer” exception recognised under POPIA), in which case you may still opt out at any time.

2. How we obtain your consent

We ask for your consent to marketing communications separately from the information we need to enrol your child or operate our website, for example, through a clearly labelled opt-in checkbox on our enrolment or contact forms, which is never pre-ticked. Agreeing to our Privacy Policy or Terms & Conditions does not, by itself, constitute consent to marketing.

3. What marketing communications may include

• Newsletters about Edukinetics, our team, and our programmes;
• Information about new programmes, schools we've partnered with, or seasonal offers;
• Invitations to events, open days, or school holiday programmes;
• General child-development tips and content we think may interest parents; and
• Requests for reviews or testimonials (see our Children's Privacy & Media Consent Policy for how we handle any testimonial that identifies or features your child).

We do not send marketing communications directly to children, and we do not knowingly collect a child's own email address or mobile number for marketing purposes.

4. How to opt out or unsubscribe

You can withdraw your consent to marketing communications, free of charge, at any time by:

• Clicking the “unsubscribe” link included in any marketing email we send;
• Replying “STOP” or a similar message to any marketing SMS or WhatsApp message;
• Emailing us at hello@edukinetics.com; or
• Calling us on 082 307 1386.

Opting out of marketing communications will not affect the service and administrative communications necessary to run your child's programme, and will not affect your child's enrolment.

5. Social media

We may share programme updates, tips, and (with consent) client stories, photographs, or videos on our social media pages. If you interact with us on social media, that platform's own privacy and cookie policies also apply to your use of it, in addition to this policy.

6. Third-party marketing tools

Where we use a third-party platform to send newsletters or manage marketing (for example, an email marketing provider), that provider processes personal information on our behalf, under instructions consistent with this policy and our Privacy Policy, and only for the purpose of sending our communications.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
